The Face Behind Oakwood Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Services

Temi Sokunbi
Founder / Pelvic floor Physiotherapist
As a Physiotherapist with an interest in women’s health, I enjoy working with a diverse clientele of all ages and believe in the body’s ability to heal through mindful movement.
I graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, and later obtained a Masters’ Degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy practice (2012) from Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom.
As a firm believer in lifelong learning, I have over 15 years of experience (from Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Canada) in women’s health, musculoskeletal and geriatric practice. This has influenced my biopsychosocial approach to the management of various conditions. I place a high value on the therapeutic relationship with my clients and my treatment approach is a mix of hands-on, exercise prescription, and client education to name a few.
I love spending my free time reading books on various subjects from the history of civilization to mindfulness and the power of positive thinking. I have also recently developed a love for Yoga and meditation.
